Burleson

Burleson, Texas, City HallBurleson is a city in Johnson and Tarrant counties, situated on 26 square miles, approximately 15 miles south of Fort Worth.  As of January 2015, the population of Burleson was 41,280, up from 36,696 at the 2010 U. S. Census.

One of the fastest growing and desirable communities in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, Burleson is appealing to many because of its easy proximity to the Metroplex, low taxes, family oriented environment, and outstanding schools. 

Burleson is within 30 minutes of at least 6 hospitals, including a pediatric hospital and a trauma center.  The city is home to 2 dozen parks on approximately 300 acres, has its own municipal golf course, and is also home to more than 30 churches of all denominations. Shopping and dining includes everything from the big-name chain retail outlets and restaurants to the small business operations that thrive on local support. A low crime rate, highly trained public safety employees, and a dedicated municipal staff that responds to the citizens’ needs makes Burlington residents feel that their families are safe.

Burleson is served primarily by the Burleson Independent School District (BISD),the Joshua Independent School District (JISD), the Everman Independent School District (EISD), and a small part of the Mansfield Independent School District (MISD).  The school districts consistently bring in SAT and ACT scores that are higher than the state and national averages. The Burleson Higher Education Center provides branch campuses of Hill College and Texas Wesleyan University.
